Melody Lanes

image

In Brooklyn with Laura and some of her friends on Saturday night.  A great time with a wonderful daughter in a 60’s kind of bowling alley with swinging music and disco balls.  It was lively and lovely, but so is Laura.  She is energizing and I love her.

On a Road Trip

image

Laura and I are leaving the city this morning.  We are headed to Brimfield, MA.  Today is the last day of the Brimfield Antique Center, three times a year, a week long antique sale.  We are hoping for some good deals.  So good-bye NYC for the day, hello CT and MA.

Matinee Mates

image

Each Tuesday afternoon I join these lovely ladies at the movies.  We meet at Paula’s home to enjoy a variety of flicks.  Today the featured matinee was Denzel Washington’s Deja Vu.  The experience is as lovely as the ladies.

Fit at Any Age

image

The body is one magnificent creation, amazing at any age.  Sure the outside is what we see, but oh the inside is where it is happening. I wish once in awhile I could get a glimpse of the inside of me, especially as I get older.
I think about being fit, paying attention and having a strong inside.  Weird, huh?

Lilies

I think lilies and spring go together.   I love both and the delicate away they both unfold with such splendor.   Spring is here and so are the lilies.

Reclaiming the Land

image

Susanne in the Susanne’s Garden Moments has been having some moments lately.  I’m Susanne, right?  I’m  reclaiming several paths and the  gardens in the back where the two huge  Laurel Oaks fell this summer.  It is going to take awhile which will provide me several moments.

This picture shows tree #2.  For now I’m just trying to locate the existing paths and beds, cleaning up as I go along.  It will take time, but it is so peaceful back there.  You gotta’ love those peaceful moments.

Lauren Tudor

image

Her name is Lauren Tudor, a beautiful Camellia growing in my back yard.  I had to hold her up as her bloom is huge, weighted down with her beauty.  This is a new tree I planted 3 or 4 years ago, a gift from Diane Roorda.  I think this is it’s first bloom.

The Camellias in my gardens are mostly old varieties, this a new variety.   I like knowing the names of trees and plants, makes the garden more personal I think.

So from my garden to yours, Happy New Year !

’72 Mercury Marquis

image

What a beauty, she  has been here for a visit over the holidays.  She’s half as long as my house.  Seats four comfortably in the back seat.  She purrs like a kitten with the power of a tiger.

She loves to be driven and Laura loves driving her.  Me?  I love riding shotgun!   If she could talk I think she would say, “Happy New Year to you I’m feeling bossy again, now let’s all get our bossy on in 2014.”
