Welcome to Miami

A small hotel cafe in a downtown hotel in Miami, love the fresh orchids, it is so Miami.  Nice art work everywhere.  I love it here, if I could live in this downtown area off of Brickell Avenue, I would.

About 15 years ago I had a gig that brought me here for a few years, weeks at a time, I stayed in this area.  Good work, great memories, but it was not so good on my home life, still nice to be back.  Now just a visit, will attend a wedding tonight.

Five Generations

I went to a Baby Shower over the weekend. Four generations present, fifth generation on the way. The matriarch will turn 100 next month.

At the shower, I only knew the young mother to be.  She is a dear young friend of mine.  I’m old even to be her grandmother, but we became friends over the past few years by getting to know each other and sharing our life’s stories.  It’s a sweet friendship I cherish.

Water Buddies

Seven original water buddies, one granddaughter visiting, one birthday lunch celebration and zero selfie expertise. What’s not in the count is the roar of laughter, the sweet spirit and camaraderie this card group shares each Tuesday afternoon at Paula’s home.

Slow Down Sun/Life

A gorgeous sunset by a friend’s pool.  The sky was changing each second.  I ran to get my phone and missed the best part.  The sun goes fast at the end of the day.  I feel life does too at the end.

Intent was Good – Outcome was Better!

5:00am in Tallahassee, Forida on Saturday morning, her ’99 Jeep was packed, her plan was to drive to LA to introduce her skillful medal and illustrations at an art fair. Laura’s old vehicle (her only hesitation) was a risk she was willing to take to exposure her talent and sell her labor of artful love. That was her intent.

The Jeep lasted two hours.  There was another plan in the making, a plan bigger and better than she ever thought possible. A rental.  Laura repacked, ten hours later, with a grateful heart, she was on the road again with even more determination and a peace of mind.   http://www.laurafortune.com

Let the Games Begin

What a game!  What a family!  The Copeland Family Reunion 2017 created another one for the books.  Sweetest garden moments ever, in my garden, with my family making memories.

Sweet Bird

In my living room, sitting in the front picture window is this birdie.  I love this bird.  With southern exposure, on this table with a view that’s perfect for coffee or  lunch.  I like it, I like the picture window too.  Do we still call it a picture window?  Not sure, but come join me if you like.

A Stranger No More

Lately I am meeting alot of  new people for whatever reason.  Strangers at first then quickly with just a smile, a inquiring question, some interaction I am getting to know them.  It makes me wonder, do I meet someone new everyday? Let’s see.

This is Inger Avant, I sat at her table at the Camellia Club Dinner last time and got to know her alittle.  It was the annual auction, she bid and bought several.  So refreshing to meet Inger while learning about many varieties of Camellias. ❤

A Gift

She lives miles and miles away from where I live, but when I see this picture my heart can go right there in their living room.  She’s a gift, a beautiful child who loves to sing, play with her stuffed animals and she can ride a scooter like a pro.  She’s brilliant, plays Monopoly Jr, Dominoes and builds Legos with the best.

What a joy, a gift she is to me.  Love, Oma

Jamie Fortune you are an Ironman!

This has been quite a year.  I’m thankful that I’m in this family of mine.  Earlier this month Jamie competed in the Ironman-Florida.  This picture was taken half way through the marathon portion, after she had finished her 2.5 mile open water swim and 112 mile bike ride.  She never stopped smiling the whole race and even here it looks like she is nearly skipping.

What a physical, mental, emotional and yes spiritual accomplishment for her. On  Friday evening at a celebration gathering with her coach, training friends and fellow Ironman finishers I had the opportunity to listen to their reflections.  Wow!

I’m a spectator, an observer, a mother, a listener and I’m exhausted.
