Zorro is my daughter’s cat, a good cat, a big cat, he guards her Christmas tree. It is sweet. Here he is posing, a nice side view for the camera. He is content, he is happy about Christmas.
Me too.

There is just something about these Original Snow Villages that I love. I know l love them because my Mom loved them.
I can’t explain it, but here’s another group in the collection. From left to right, 2000 “Silver Bells Christmas Shop”, 1997 “Italianate Villa” and 2004 “How Chest Consignment Shop.
Here’s a group of friends I’ve know for some years. We worked together THEN and we have lunch together NOW once a month. Let’s say we have a history together. I love these good folks!
One would think I’m on a botanical garden tour, really I am at my friend Paula’s home this week. I nearly missed this lovely orchid at their drive-way again. It is probably because I have never taken the time to look up. What a beautiful site. What else have I missed?
Steamy, oh yeah baby, when 81° temperature of the water, interacts with 37° temperature of the morning air. Or is it the other way around? Regardless here’s what Trousdell Aquatics Center looked like early this morning. Can I get a brrrrr?
Actually it was lovely, just lovely.
At 5:30 am this morning, I could not resist this photo opt. The little tinsel trees can light up a room, make the floors shine and the whole room sparkle!
Will had this awesome Hawaiian shirt on, it is incredible if you like Hawaiian shirts. I do, especially this vintage style, it is a pull over.
Will said it belonged to his uncle. Aloha!
Meet Jake, a seven year old friend of mine. I had lunch with his family and some friends today. Jake made his costume, he told me it took two days, but he only wore it for a few minutes. It was just long enough to get his picture taken. I loved his very creative design… paper beard, paper belt, paper button.
Cute, huh?
My mother loved Dept 56 Snow Villages. They are bigger than the other Dept 56 series so I have a few of the snowy village buildings. This one came out in ’97, a sweet bungalow with what looks like a ’50ish Dodge red station wagon parked in the garage. The car has snow skies on top too ready to go.
I found this at a thrift store some years ago. Mother would be pleased.
One more barn insight and a reminder to a new year’s resolution of mine. Ready? No, not to own a barn, but I wish and I like your way of thinking.
Look at this wall of fishing poles. I want to learn to fish. I have the fishing gene in me, I want to embrace it with some intentional practice.
PS. I bet you thought I was going to say to learn to lasso.
