6:00 am – I’m not sure what is going on, but the filming crew is here and my home inside and out is under construction. Roll’em.

Something About This Picture!
This morning my friend Paula came over for coffee, we sat at this little window table. It was lovely. After Paula left, I wished I had taken a picture of her in the window. I stood there for a minute on the outside, looking inside with all the colors and the wonderful reflections from inside and outside. Charming I thought, just missing Paula in the picture.
Live Oak Tree
Tallahassee is full of oak trees. I saw this one yesterday, it is huge and probably about the same age of the tree I lost in my back yard in March. The difference is my tree was crowded in a tighter space.
When I look at this tree, it stands alone. This aged oak has taken advantage of the sun and sky, all spread out. Its low enormous branches almost touch the ground, but screams take it easy on me, I’m old! It is covered with moss standing so stately it has no limitations to where it can grow or does it? It is growing old too.
I’m feeling this tree.
Fireside Chat
Ashley came over Tuesday evening to roast a hotdog or two in the Outdoor Room. It’s perfect weather for eating out there and the ambiance is worth the prize of admission. Between the birds singing, the gentle spring air swirling and the fireside chatting with a friend, who could ask for more?
Question: Have you ever noticed that the fire gets perfect for roasting, just in time to call it quits?
Meet Mary Penelope Young
We call her Penny, a swimming friend of mine. Penny is a blooming author and today she was hosting a book signing event at a local bookstore here in Tallahassee. Deal Me a Card is the title, a combination love story and murder mystery. This is Penny’s first book, already in its third print and she is working on #2.
She believes we all have a book inside ourselves waiting to be written, I believe her.
Laura’s New Lawn Mower +
I love this sweet picture. Of course you can see her new lawn mower, but check out the fertilized green grass and the size of those tulips. Laura moved to this apartment over a year ago in Brooklyn, NY. She loved that it had a backyard, room for a square foot veggie garden and space to plant tulips, daffodils and other flowers. You might remember a post some time back of Laura and the weed-wacker! That was a post when she first moved in. Now just look as spring has come to Brooklyn.
Coming Back To Life
Yes indeed, slowly, but surely this backyard garden is gaining life and personality. I have more sunlight now so I can have Knock-Out Roses back here too. My favorite humming bird and butterfly flower is the Black & Blue Salvia so I’m in business.
It is good, I’ve had to mend the brick walls, dig up roots and terra cotta pots, add manure to replenish the smashed ground, but it is going to be a wildlife habitat again. Please, come on over.
My Friend
This is my good friend Cynthia. She and I went on a picnic on Sunday evening with our church. Cynthia is one of those people who gives so much to others. Her involvement includes all ages in many organizations all around Tallahassee. Cynthia has a big, big heart for people. I wanted you to meet her.
Raining in California
Doesn’t this precious little child just make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside? She does me. I find myself in a stare with her. She is playing in the rain, so happy about it and probably giggling.
Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow
This shrub is named Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow and this picture was taken in my friend’s Diane Roorda’s garden yesterday. White, light lavender and violet colored flowers and each day the flowers change to a different color. What a life! Can you believe it? No resistance to change for this beautiful shrub. Love it!
