Mr. Bojangle’s Report

image

Mr. Bojangles is sitting outside my office window, looking at me.  He wants to come in as he knows I will feed him and besides it is a dreary day.  He’s a good cat, he talks a lot, he says….thank you, please, hold me, out and no.  Here he is saying please.

St. Anthony’s Triathlon in St. Petersburg, Florida

image

This is Jamie just as she came through the Finish Line at the St. Anthony’s Triathlon in St. Pete yesterday. This was her first Olympic distance triathlon.  She finished strong, very strong.  I am  so proud of her.  Doesn’t she look  relaxed and refreshed?

Stellar Jay in Breckenridge

image

This picture was taken in Breckenridge yesterday, we have been watching these two Stellar Jays all week.  Isn’t this one beautiful?  This morning the suet feeders were gone and feeders were broken.  A visitor much bigger than the Jay came inquiring, maybe a mountain lion or a bear or a fox, either way….YIKES!

She’s My Sister

image

Jo is in front, she is my sister. These are some special friends of Jo’s who came for lunch yesterday, Barbara even brought our lunch.  It is all a reminder to me of what is important.  It was my intent to come to Breckenridge to help Jo and maybe take care of her.  The outcome has been different, it usually always is.  Jo is way ahead of this game, she works-out every day as if she is in training and always with tenacity.  I love her heart,  she knows who she is and where she is going.
Tomorrow I get to go with Jo and Gene to Denver, there Jo will be fitted for her first  prosthesis and meet with her team of doctors.   I love my sister, I will leave it at that.

He’s My Brother…

image

Breckenridge, Colorado.  Gene was clearing the driveway this morning in preparation for lunch guests.  Five of Jo’s friends were coming over around noon.  Today it snowed 12″ here making the total of 6′ for the month of April.  Is that possible?  The answer is yes.
I love spending time with my family, being in their world and in their everyday life, sharing stories, getting to know them better, it is an honor to belong to each other.

Ice Fishing

image

Look close to see these three ice fishing on Lake Tarn yesterday.  It is not a prize winning zoomed photo about a half a mile from the house window, but these three were on the lake all day.  They noric snowskied out pulling their gear on sleds.  All day they fished.  At one point they relocated to another spot, pulled out their augers to dig new holes and extended their allowed two lines.  They must have had some good luck, I know I did.

Snow Plower Mark is Tired of the Snow!

image

I met Mark this morning, kind of a grumpy guy.  He snow plows the roads and driveways daily.  I was fascinated by him clearing their driveway each day.  I’m from Florida, I decided to go out the front door and take Mark the Snow Plower’s picture.  Mark rolled down his truck window, I introduced myself, smiled and greeted Mark with a Good Morning.  Mark didn’t really reciprocate my enthusiasm and his only reply was “we are tired of it”.
