Garden, People and Fruit Moments

At the Museu Nacional do Azulejo this week to see the history of 🇵🇹 Portugal’s tiles through displays and stories. It was also an opportunity for some people watching in the gardens.

This model and her crew were very interesting to watch as they prepared her for the next photo.

Now I see the fruit on the tree, an extra bonus. It looks like a low-quot. Do you think? Did I misspelled it?

Ponte de Lima

Ponte de Lima is a favorite on mine. A smaller town, a market was taking place in town, staged on the Rio Lima, but it was this sweet small botanical garden that was a lasting

memory. The water features were simple…. Check out this aqua duct along the path and of course always a vineyard in the mix.

Ponte de Lima

This is just called a Park in Ponte de Lima in northern 🇵🇹 Portugal. I loved this little city. I posted this picture to help remind me about organizing or downsizing my gardens in my backyard.

I can do it gradually one small area at a time like an English garden with less fuss. These gardens weren’t perfect, but provide the character I need.

Also a reminder to buy myself one hybrid rose to give them a try again. I’m inspired can you tell?

Hydrangeas in Northern 🇵🇹 Portugal

I found these Hydrangeas in a city park in Figueira de Foz. Northern 🇵🇹 Portugal does not feel sub-tropical, but these are such beautiful plants. I wish they were blooming. My Hydrangeas were blooming in Florida when I left home.

I want to remember how each of these plants are planted. Did you notice the trench around each? I won’t try that in my gardens until after they stop blooming this year but in the dry heat of the summer I think they would like a holding trench for water.

Hydrangeas are a favorite of mine.

Alfama Lisboa, Portugal ðŸ‡µðŸ‡¹

This city is beautiful, so many hills in fact rarely is one walking on even ground. The tiles on the street and sidewalks have been hand placed which makes it more fascinating. My eyes are often looking down when I’m wanting to look up.

I am getting some great walking in each day. This afternoon I walked 14,738 steps, but who’s counting? Me I guess.

Memories

Orlando Airport Hyatt is a past memory, a place I stayed a lot in my past life of traveling on business.

Work as I knew it then is in my past, but it’s a big part of who I am. That time taught me so much about myself, others, work and life.

Fast forward I’m retired, I still work but with a different focus. I’m traveling today to Lisbon, Portugal to visit my daughter. Happy travels! Bon Voyage!

It’s a Garden Party

Just beyond the Saliva is a small circle yard, we will set up dinner there. It’s beautiful to be embraced by nature and friends.

Backyard in the Rain

It’s a rainy day here in Tallahassee, any gardener would love it. The smells, the sounds, the cool gentle rain.

A friend of mine gave me some new pots. What an adventure to add geraniums and placement. I’ve never been much of a container gardener but I am now!! Thanks Linda.

Columbine = Spring

Spring brings the sweetest perennials ever. They are planted in a small area of one garden, they bloom a long time, but the foliage remains most of the summer. They are so enchanting.

Tonight some friends came over for a bit. We walked through the dark yard, the gardens are here day and night. These young friends love my gardens. I love it when people love what I love!

People’s Rally in Tallahassee

I was up front from the beginning, I wanted to hear the student’s voices. They were loud and clear, so brave and powerful. We listened. The crowd got bigger, the Capitol’s lawn was packed with people and passion of all ages. The students were feeding us truth.

The crowd grew and grew, the sun was hot, I had to slip out of the crowd into the back where I could not hear. Even then I was feeling such a part of people coming together to be a part of something so important. Lives matter, safety matters, education matters, the young voices matter to me and others.
